Renée is passionate about supporting and empowering people to create and maintain positive change in their lives.
Her journey into the field of psychological well-being began in 1997 with her involvement, support and rehabilitation of patients transitioning from long-term residential psychiatric care into a community based setting. Over the past 25 years she has had the privilege of supporting people in a variety of Mental Health and Alcohol & Drug services. In 2006 while working in Health Promotion, Renée discovered the healing impact of animals, especially horses, on the human psyche; she began researching a professional framework on which to attach her evolving philosophy eventually discovering, training and affiliating to EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth & Learning Association) in 2007.
In 2008 she traveled to Australia, United Kingdom and USA to further her experience, education and qualifications in Equine Assisted Personal Development (EAPD). Upon her return to NZ she set up in private practice and began delivering services to individuals, families and groups. In March 2014, Renée was invited to intern with Shelley Rosenberg in Arizona; completed her Eponaquest apprenticeship and graduated as an Instructor in September 2014. Renee has been offering Equine assisted personal development services for over 20 years.
