Jane has been a counsellor for 12 years and has worked for a wide variety of agencies including The Eating Disorder Service, Hutt Valley DHB, Capital and Coast DHB, and currently splits her working time with Tu Ora Compass Health and her role as co-director of Changing Horses.
Jane has been delivering Equine Facilitated therapy for the past 10 years, her journey with horses started at the Wellington Riding for the Disabled, volunteering in the ride programme. Whilst at the RDA Jane noticed the relationship between the client and the horses and how the relationship between the horse and rider enhanced the riders physical, mental and emotional well-being. This lead Jane to explore the different ways that Horses support people in their growth and learning.
Jane is certified in the Eagala model, is one of five Eponaquest Instructors in New Zealand, and is training in the Equusoma Model, a model of working with horses and trauma.
Jane is ACC registered, works with WINZ clients, and is registered with I AM HOPE.
Jane partners with her three big horses and 4 minis to support people in their growth and learning.
Jane is based in Pauatahaunui (between Porirua and the Hutt valley) and accepts clients from Kapiti, Wellington and southern Wairarapa. contact her to discuss how she can help you.
